September 24-26, US local time, Solar Power International 2019 opened in Salt Lake City, USA. Phono Solar brought five innovative modules to the booth at No.301 of the Salt Palace Convention and Exhibition Center.



The US is the world's leading market for scale and maturity, and the second largest PV market in the world. In 2019, the installed capacity of first quarter was 2.7 GW, a year-on-year increase of 10%, and the cumulative installed capacity was 67 GW. In a power plant system, the DC side between the module and the inverter can generate a high voltage of 300V-1000V if there is illumination. When an emergency such as a fire occurs, the AC side is turned off and the voltage on the DC side cannot be controlled. Firefighters are exposed to the threat of high-voltage DC arc when they are close to the PV system. Therefore, the US National Electrical Code NEC2017 clearly requires that PV power plants need to have module-level fast shutdown capability to provide the best system security.
